Set within a beautiful Edwardian country house in the heart of Hindhead, Surrey, Moorhouse Care Home offers high-quality residential and dementia care for up to 36 residents, on both a permanent basis and through pre-bookable short-term respite stays. Originally built as the area's first hotel for affluent Edwardian visitors, the home retains many original features, including its period porcelain plates, blending period charm with modern comfort.
Bedrooms are bright and individually decorated, with many enjoying views across the Golden Valley, and most ground-floor rooms open directly onto the landscaped gardens. These gardens are a particular highlight, offering peaceful spaces for fresh air, relaxation and time with visiting family, with the surrounding countryside providing a calming backdrop to daily life.
The skilled, compassionate team take a person-centred approach, tailoring 24-hour care to each resident's personal history, preferences and changing needs, with a focus on dignity, independence and meaningful engagement. Where possible, residents can choose to receive care from a male or female team member, and private healthcare visits such as dentistry can be arranged when needed.
Moorhouse is led by Manager Julie Watts, who brings nearly four decades of experience in care, having progressed from carer to roles in home management, regional management, quality direction and consulting. Having found her true passion in home management, Julie is proud to lead the outstanding, dedicated team at Moorhouse, and considers it a privilege to support residents and staff each day.
